Today, our family operates two divisions side by side. Southern Power Experts continues to handle generator service, maintenance, and emergency repairs, the foundation our reputation was built on. Southern Power Generators focuses on sales and installation for homes and businesses across the metro. 

Together, we offer Atlanta homeowners a full-service experience, from the first conversation to the last annual tune-up. Our kids work alongside us, learning the trade the way James learned it, shoulder to shoulder with someone who cares about doing the job right.

Eight years ago, Michelle's father started his generator company right here in Atlanta, handling both service and installation for homes across the metro. He built it the way every good local business gets built: by answering the phone, doing right by every customer, and earning referrals one job at a time. James joined him in the early years, putting his electrical training back to use while we continued running the photography studio. We’re James and Michelle Hill, and our family has called Decatur home for more than twenty years.

After we married, we lived in Los Angeles, where James spent years working alongside the owner of Berstein Electric.  He was a master electrician who became one of his most important mentors and taught him the electrical trade from the ground up. When our second child was born, we moved back to Atlanta to be near family. Photography had been one of James's passions since high school, so when we settled in Decatur, GA, we opened a family photography studio of our own:  James Hill Photography.  Nearly twenty years later, we are still photographing maternity, newborn, and family portrait sessions across Atlanta.  We've learned just how much a small, family-run operation can mean to a community.
