Meet the Hill family
A family business, start to finish
Southern Power Generators is James and Michelle Hill, our three kids, both of our dads and a crew we trust. We live and work right here in DeKalb County, and every install has our name on it.

When you call us, you get us
We started Southern Power Generators so families across Atlanta could count on one honest, local team for backup power. There's no call center and no handoff to strangers. The people you meet at your estimate are the people who show up on install day.
Our kids grew up around this work, and they pitch in on job sites. Madison even joins us on school holidays. Both of our dads are part of it too. James's dad, Brian, works alongside us on installs. Michelle's dad, Ed Holgate, owns our sister company, Southern Power Experts, which takes care of maintenance and repairs after the install. It really is a family business.
Who does what
James is a licensed Georgia Master Electrician (EN219300). He works every lead himself, walks every home, sizes every generator and does the electrical work on every install.
Michelle keeps everything on track: the schedule, the ordering and the paperwork. If you've talked to us about an install date, you've probably talked to Michelle.
Our crew handles the trenching, pads, gas lines and cleanup, and they work the way James does: careful, clean and done right. We never subcontract.
The Master Electrician on every job
James sizes your generator, plans where it goes and does the electrical work himself. He'll tell you what you need, what you don't, and exactly what it takes, with no pressure.
Before we leave, he tests your new generator and walks you through how it works, so you know exactly what to expect the next time the power goes out.

On the job
Trenching, pads, wiring and gas lines. This is what a Southern Power Generators install looks like.

Service after the sale
Our sister company, Southern Power Experts, is run by Michelle's dad, Ed Holgate. They handle generator maintenance, warranty work and repairs, so once your generator is in, it stays in good hands. Schedule a service with them.
